As the global pandemic rages on, ArtRabbit is fighting hard for art spaces and venues worldwide. The platform connects artists and curators with art lovers and tourists. It works in-browser or as a standalone app as a guide to local art events in your area.

With the arts industry being one of the hardest-hit, it’s never been more critical to support your local scene. ArtRabbit will help you do just that. The app is a great tool to have in your pocket whenever you’re finding COVID-19 restrictions leading to boredom.

ArtRabbit Local Art Events Through COVID-19

If you’ve been spending time on social media lately, you will have seen what the art and craftwork people have been doing while stuck at home. The pandemic has inspired thousands of artists to pick up a brush or a needle and make something beautiful. Art is becoming more popular than ever. However, the artists who made their living from markets, exhibitions, and events have been hit with much fear and uncertainty.

ArtRabbit is a great resource to increase footfall to the local art events that are still running, and virtual footfall to a vast array of online events. The site also has a section devoted to Artist Opportunities, which lists paid opportunities for artists and creatives to apply for. These could be crucial to an artist’s economic situation and may even save their business.

Art Events and Exhibitions Near You

It is heartbreaking to see the notice, ‘There are no events in this area,’ on so many searches. But believe it or not, there are still things to do and see. With the ArtRabbit ArtMap, you can see at a glance where all the cool art events are near you. You can also follow your local venues or favourite artists, so you’ll always know what’s on.

Some events that caught my eye:

  • Baker’s Dozen 2020 — a play on the old British slang, meaning 13 loaves in a dozen, so there was one extra if something happened. The exhibition takes place at the Torrance Art Museum in California and features 13 different artists.
  • Futureless — some of us feel like we have no future these days, but this exhibition proves that wrong. It features a new generation of artists who have profound thoughts about our planet’s environmental and economic future. It also looks at queer/feminist themes. This one’s at SomoS, Germany.
  • Monster/Beauty: An Exploration of the Female/Femme Gaze — an exhibition of artworks that take a new look at the female gaze. It’s being held at Lychee One in London, UK, and features three upcoming female artists.

Download the app, grab a friend from your social bubble and head to your nearest art event. It doesn’t matter if it’s not your thing; you might surprise yourself, and you’ll make an artist very happy.
