July Bulletin: Artfunder Invests Crypto in Artists on BitClout

Last month we updated our logo. This month we have an even bigger change to announce:

CulturePledge is now called Artfunder!

Artfunder

Our new name is a much clearer reflection of our core mission to build and promote solutions to help independent artists thrive. We see the Artfunder brand as repping 3 things: a magazine, a community, and a dream.

For more on the dream, read How The Creator Economy Can Truly Benefit The Arts, and keep an eye out for new materials in the weeks to come.

We’d also love to invite you to share in the discussion of the arts and other trippy topics on Discord! That’s also the place to nominate artists to receive BitClout investments.

Artfunder Alchemy ?

100% of our site advertising and other revenues including our BitClout Founder Rewards are invested into the arts. Since the inception of the Alchemy Program we’ve directly invested $578 worth of CLOUT cryptocurrency into six artists & arts projects:

July Picks

This month, we’ve invested $327 in CLOUT into:

@SamHorine ($50)

Sam Horine is a photographer who recently left NYC for greener pastures in Seattle. His work has been in Travel and Leisure, The New Yorker, The New York Times, Art Forum, Rolling Stone, Art in America, and many more. An early adopter and advocate of social media, his Instagram account was even voted best in NYC by the Village Voice and The Daily Beast.

Sam is part of the OURS Gallery Show at the Ace Hotel in NYC (Jul 15 – Aug 31st, 2021)

@BitPaint ($50)

BitPaint is an account by Adria Miko, an artist based in Spain. His work has the feel of familiar and sometimes risqué photography, and it has been captivating to many early BitClout aficionados. BitPaint has also been very engaging on the platform, helping to promote the arts and create a sense of community and shared culture.

@DanoPhoto ($50)

Dano is photographer famed for documenting the explosion of snowboarding in the 90s. In 2019, Snowboarder Magazine called him: “arguably the most influential and prolific Canadian snowboard photographer of all time”. Lately he’s been focused on creative work on brand campaign ideation, production, and storytelling. He says his true passion remains photography, though, and he’s been expressing that beautifully lately on BitClout.

@DarrylGold ($50)

 filmmaker and animator darryl gold

Darryl Gold is a multimedia artist and filmmaker from Hamilton, Canada. When he’s not working on films and animation, Darryl is a practitioner of creative 3D printing, a virtual art gallery creator, and even an artfunder contributor! Is there nothing this man cannot do? Suspiciously, his profile photo (left) is AI-generated, just like the one used by Maebeam, the BitClout core developer. And rumour has it that no one has ever seen his real face… Could HE be Diamondhands, the pseudonymous creator of BitClout??? (Spoiler alert: He is not.)

@artfunder ($77)

Our business strategy here is dead simple. We just keep buying our own creator coin each month. This ensures we’re always acquiring more of our own coin for use in community growth initiatives. It also creates constant upward price pressure to the benefit of our coin holders!

In case you missed them, here are our picks from last month. Stay tuned as we’re looking forward to backing and showcasing much more artistic talent in the months to come!
