Culture Pledge Welcomes Jeff Hayward to the Editorial Team

We are thrilled to announce that veteran online content creator Jeff Hayward is joining the Culture Pledge team as Contributing Editor. He will be working with the Editor to ensure we continue to deliver quality creative content week after week.

A Bit About Jeff

Jeff began his artistic journey at a young age drawing comic books with his older brother. Eventually, he attended Sheridan College near Toronto, Canada, where he cultivated what has become a lifelong love of photography.

While Jeff is actively working as a photographer with a focus on street photography, his main occupation for the past 15 years has been as a writer and editor. Starting as a cub reporter for community newspapers, he moved on as a web editor for a trade magazine publisher focused on the graphic design industry. In recent years, he has been ghostwriting copy on a variety of subjects ranging from the arts to health and wellness.

On joining Culture Pledge as an editor, Jeff remarks:

“I’m happy to be on board with a project that examines how arts are being funded and supported. I’m excited to explore the possibilities for artists to continue their work in a sustainable way.

Jeff has a deep respect for artists that make a living solely from their art, and is interested in not only how they are surviving but also re-inventing themselves. He believes art is here to stay no matter what, and his hope is that people will see the inherent value of it to define us as humans and keep us entertained and inspired when times become more trying.

“We consume art every day without even thinking about it. Art is more important than ever as a way to look at the world through a unique lens. We need to support artists, especially independent ones, so they can pursue their passion and enlighten us.”
